At Inca Rail we know that your safety is the most important consideration, therefore we have transformed and adapted to the new requirements of prevention of COVID-19 to make your journey a safe and pleasant experience at all times. Our Biosecurity protocols are part of our “Plan of Surveillance, Prevention and Control of COVID-19 in the work place”, approved by the Ministry of Health.

It has been a long wait and today we are ready to welcome you and continue creating together unique and transcendent experiences towards the heart of the Inca Empire: Machu Picchu.

BIOSECURITY PROTOCOLS

  • You will have at your disposal alcohol gel and/or disinfectant solution at the entrance and inside our facilities.
  • When entering, it must be in order, maintaining a minimum distance of 1.50 meter from other passengers.
  • The boarding pass and identity card must be carried and shown directly from your cell phone, thus avoiding physical contact.
  • We will provide you hand disinfection hand disinfectant prior to boarding.
  • Your luggage must be disinfected before boarding and you will be informed where they must be located on the train.
  • Follow the instructions of our staff and signs to enter in order maintaining the physical distance of at least 1.50 meter at all times.
  • Have your digital boarding pass and your identity card at hand.
  • You must sit in your assigned seat and for your own safety, once in your seat, avoid moving around in order to reduce the risk and exposure of other people inside the train.
  • For your safety, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth without first washing and/or disinfecting your hands.
  • As far as possible, avoid touching surfaces of greater contact within the carriage.
  • Disposal of the waste will be in accordance with the instructions of the On-board Service staff.
  • We have an emergency protocol for handling any suspicious case that might arise on board, which includes a COVID-19 emergency kit and a first aid kit, as well as soap, alcohol/disinfectant solution, paper towels, waste cans and contingency plastic bags for solid waste disposal.
  • Toilets are for urinal use only.
  • You will receive safety information and instructions from our On-board Service staff.
  • Disembarking will be carried out in an orderly manner and without crowding.
  • Follow the instructions of our On-board Service staff when getting off the train and respect the required physical distance.
  • Forgotten objects will be disinfected and placed in a first use bag. You will need to inform our On-board Service staff so that they can guide you.
    Our cleaning staff will periodically and frequently clean and disinfect the carriage (before and/or at the end of each journey) as well as the different environments and/or contact points (points of sale, waiting rooms, passageways, toilets, locks, door and window plates, handrails, etc.). Disinfectant solution and/or water + chlorine/bleach will be used in accordance with the health recommendations issued by the health entities.

We know that safety is the most important consideration, therefore we as Inca Rail have transformed and adapted to the new COVID-19 prevention requirements to make travel a safe, reliable and pleasant experience at all times. We guarantee that inside our wagons you will be breathing clean air , since we have an air purification system that eliminates viruses and bacteria , which consists of 3 integrated modules: Ion, Photocatalyst Filter and Ultraviolet Radiation (UV-C 254 nm), which work at the same time, ensuring a complete purification of the air, allowing us to operate at 100% of the capacity.

Because your safety and health is our commitment and we want you to have the best experience on your journey to Machu Picchu, we have adapted our operations and implemented the most demanding Biosecurity protocols which received the SGS certification which guarantees the effectiveness of the established protocols, as well as their compliance and implementation against COVID-19.

FLEXIBILITY POLICIES

In Inca Rail we handle policies of flexibility in these times of COVID-19 and we offer you the following terms:

  • You can access a Travel Voucher* and/or you can endorse your ticket to another passenger.
  • You can relocate your travel tickets without penalty. However, they are subject to fare updates.
  • If you have any inquiries regarding refunds or changes, please contact cdpaxdirecto@incarail.com until 72 hours before your travel date.
  • In case you want to request a change of date or refund of your travel tickets, please send your request to cdpaxdirecto@incarail.com specifying your data and voucher number.
    *The Travel Voucher is a compensation document that you can redeem for new services in the future and its value is related to your original purchase. The Travel Voucher is valid for 2 years.
